Support to host state security forces
On several occasions, UN peace operations have been mandated to provide logistical and other support to host state security forces.
Central African Republic
Beginning with resolution 2448 (2018), the Security Council requested MINUSCA to provide enhanced planning and technical assistance and logistical support for the progressive deployment of a limited number of vetted Central African Armed Forces (FACA) units or Internal Security Forces (ISF) engaged in joint operations with MINUSCA.

Mali
The MINUSMA mandate included support to the redeployment of the Malian Defense and Security Forces (MDSF) to the north and centre of Mali through operations, logistical and transportation support during coordinated and joint operations, planning, strengthened information sharing, and medical evacuation, within existing resources.
In addition, the Mission was mandated to support MDSF units as part of the G5 Sahel Joint Force through a trust fund.
Somalia
Beginning with resolution 2245 (2015), the Security Council authorized UNSOS to provide a targeted support package to Somali Federal Security Institutions through a trust fund.
